Finger Running / 2014
Finger Running explores the gendered intimacy relying upon long hair. The performance is enacted by two women to engage the idea of desired eroticism and exoticism, and to convey how this is gendered and perceived through an invisible or subconscious heterosexual male gaze. Backlit by the sun, the scene also mocks the overplayed romantic cinematic scenes in which male figures gently run their fingers on a woman's cheek or brushes a woman's long hair out of her face to kiss her.
