Information Technology (Foundations) (2016)

Electronic and service manuals and schematics, Incan doll family
Stack & Installation dimensions variable

These manuals were recovered from my dusty basement, at the foundation of my home.  They were probably some of the first objects my dad acquired after migrating to the US with my mom and my older brother (a baby at the time). He found a job as a technician and these items were most likely the foundations of his knowledge about technical and electronic repair, as well as the foundations to sustain his family in the US.  Thinking about the ways modern technology displaces and produces a pathological separation between intimate relationships, I view the stacks of books as the building blocks of family and home that have led to the transformation of choreographed space.
